OUR STORY
Loch Awe Boat Tours was founded in 2023 with the goal of establishing truly exceptional Scottish loch adventures.
The vast landscape of Loch Awe was carved out by one of the last glaciers to leave Scotland, around 10,000 years ago, at the end of the last ice age and offers much in the way of wildlife, history and geography to see.
Loch Awe is the longest fresh water loch in Scotland and lies in the shadow of the mighty Cruachan mountain range. At 1126 metres Ben Cruachan is the tallest peak in Argyll and Bute, and the fith largest mountain in Scotland.
Loch awe is Studded with historic castles and stunning wildlife so we are sure to take you on an adventure of a lifetime.

Specifications
This is either a 1.5-2 or 2.5 to 3 hour boat adventure, depending on the service you booked. The time does not include the 15/20 minute safety briefing, prior to departure.

Departure is usually from the dock next to Portsonachan Hotel and includes a stop at Dalavich cafe and shop, where there is a toilet and an opportunity for refreshments, on extended tours only. We may be able to depart from Dalavich, with a stop at Portsonachan for extended tours, but please get in contact with us with any custom requests.

The vessel is a Delta Rib holding all of its safety certifications. There is seating for 6 people with limited storage on board. Upon entering/exiting the vessel, the side of the vessel is made of tubing, please be prepared to potentially straddle this area of the vessel (50cm width), depending on dock height. Water Adventures on Loch Awe are not responsible for the conditions of the dock, so please prepare accordingly.

Upon arriving please do not access the dock space until instructed to do so by the skipper. Once the vessel is secure the skipper will disembark, will assign a life vest, demonstrate how to secure it, provide assistance if necessary, and pass out waivers for signature. When advised your party will move onto the dock and toward the vessel. The skipper will provide support/assistance when embarking/disembarking the vessel if necessary.
Please do not stand while the boat is in motion. Please dress accordingly, it can get chilly on the loch, and rain can move in/out quickly. Closed toe shoes are recommended, please do not wear high heels. Please secure any loose clothing as any items sacrificed to the loch will remain there.
All adventures are in English and we do not have a means of translation at this time. ​​
